Celebrate the Season with my Yuletide Forest fabric collection.

Welcome to Yuletide Forest, my next holiday fabric collection with Riley Blake Designs, coming out in May 2023. Today, as part of Riley Blake Design’s Virtual Quilt Market, I’m going to invite you to step into this nature inspired, fresh spin on a classic holiday theme that will be a wonderful addition to your holiday sewing.

Imagine walking into the forest on a crisp winter day (you know, chilly, but not too chilly) and gathering everything you need to bring Christmas into your home. Evergreens and berry sprigs line the mantel, with pinecones and cute mushrooms tucked in, while everything smells of pine, cinnamon, and orange. This is the inspiration behind Yuletide Forest and I hope it brings a soothing, natural touch to your holidays. Sometimes the Christmas season can get a little too covered in glitter, if you know what I mean, and it’s nice to slow down and sink into those seasonal essentials that feel cozy and calming.

You’ll find some fresh but traditional florals in this collection, with a sprinkling of natural elements, along with fun plaids and stripes to round out the collection. The main print features bold poinsettias with greenery and berries, mushrooms, a feather or two, cinnamon sticks, and even some orange slices. The coordinating prints bring in those forest floor elements, including a two-toned simple pattern of evergreen sprigs, leaves and mushrooms. There’s a design called Deer Damask that uses those natural elements in a traditional two-color layout that will be a fun contrasting print. And a plaid pattern set on the diagonal along with a familiar ticking stripe are some fun and functional prints to complete the collection.

This collection has a familiar holiday palette of reds and shades of green, along with a charcoal addition that gives it all a dash of sophistication. There’s also a dark bluish green and a sprinkling of pink.

Yuletide Forest will look fabulous in your Christmas quilts as well as many other holiday sewing projects. Riley Blake has a couple patterns, “Christmas Ville” and “Peppermint Pines”, available for wholesale order on the Riley Blake website. Both designs are by Erica Made, and can also be ordered though her Etsy shop. And I look forward to seeing what you make with Yuletide Forest!

Shop owners, you can pre-order Yuletide Forest now (last call for pre-orders is Dec. 1!) by contacting your Riley Blake Designs sales representative. And please ask for Yuletide Forest at your favorite quilt shops next May!
