Happy Holidays!

The Christmas holiday season has come 'round again and, all clichés aside, I really do enjoy this time of year. Especially now, when it's early enough that I'm still enamored with all the sparkly lights and not too stressed out (yet). So today's post is all FA LA LA. I have some new products in my Etsy shop for the holiday season (perfect for gift giving, hint, hint.) and they're going fast because I don't make a lot of them! I've also been working on some new holiday art because while I'm usually making Christmas art all year long this is really the easiest and most enjoyable time to make it. New this year, I have some holiday photo cards available with Mpix.com and I'd love for you to check them out if you're sending out family Christmas cards. Finally, the most recent Yellow House Post included some free printable gift tags because I'm a total gift wrap nerd. If you'd like some of your own, subscribe! Or send me a note and I'll make sure you get some. Now I'm off to deck the halls or wassail . . . or something like that.

New Tea Towels in the Shop!

stack2When will I learn? When will I learn that most things will take me at least twice, sometimes more like five times as long to do as I think they will? This is the story of my life. Apparently I run my business no differently. I've wanted to get tea towels into my shop for awhile and I've finally managed to do it! Tea towels are available in my Etsy shop today! I love tea towels, kitchen towels, hand towels, flour sack towels, whatever you want to call them. I like them colorful and bold or uniquely illustrated. I tend toward vegetables, fruits, florals, and gadgets. I pick them up at Crate & Barrel and I find them at fun gift shops. A great tea towel can make drying the dishes FUN. Kinda. And NOW I'm making my own! stack1

There are seven tea towels available in the shop now. Another two will be debuting shortly (my 2015 calendar tea towels). For now I have the following designs: Autumn Path, Kitchen Cupboard, Gizmos Galore (in 2 fun colors), Furniture Forest, Coral Floral, Get in the Garden, and Maple Vinaigrette. That last one is a fun illustrated recipe of my favorite maple vinaigrette from Gale Woods Farm.

maple1All of the tea towels have been digitally printed on a linen-cotton canvas fabric by Spoonflower.com and then sewn up by me, with mitered corners and a twill tape hanger in one of the corners. They work equally well as wall decoration as they do to dry your hands. I hope you'll check them out. They'd make wonderful gifts, if I do say so myself. And I can say that because I gave out loads of them for Christmas last year.

I hope you enjoy them!
