A post in which I promise to not talk about the weather. Baby steps. Baby steps. Ever since I rekindled my interest in art and decided that I wanted to pursue it professionally (my GRAND pre-midlife experiment!) I've been trying to work on more and more illustrations. Sketches I take all the way through to completion. I'm still discovering my style, I'm still learning how to use digital tools, I'm still struggling through getting the picture in my head to end up on the paper in front of me (why is that so hard?), and while it's terribly frustrating most of the time (I can admit I don't like the struggling stuff), it's also pretty fun. And I know that it's all part of a process to get to where I want to be so I just have to keep doing the work. That's all there is to it. All that to say, here are a couple of recent illustrations I've been working on. My endless show and tell here, thanks for indulging me.
They will most likely appear in my Etsy shop . . . when I get it open. I get too bogged down in the details, wanting to know everything ahead of time, and trying to get everything perfect. It impedes my progress more often than not. But I think March is the month. Hold me to it - please.
